Shakira World Cup 2014 Performance: Shakira Wears Sexy Red Dress At Closing Ceremony, Performs ‘Dare (La, La, La)’ [PHOTO] [VIDEO]

What a way to close the World Cup - Shakira's World Cup 2014 closing ceremony performance did not disappoint!

The Colombian superstar lit up the Maracana Stadium in Brazil, belting out "La La La (Brazil 2014)", a special mix of one of Shakira's own songs which was put together just for the World Cup. The closing ceremony hit all the right notes this time around, pleasing both fans in the stadium and television viewers worldwide - unlike the World Cup 2014 opening ceremony on June 12.

"The upbeat closing show was a sharp contrast to Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez tepid performance at the World Cup opening... which was later criticised for everything from audio malfunctions to the rise of Pitbull's pants," said Billboard.

Shakira's World Cup 2014 final performance featured the singer adorned in a sequinned, strap-covered red dress, with a sexy fringe skirt. She danced with Brazilian percussionists and even showed off her host of other musical skills as she played a Carnaval drum!

But the sexy singer wasn't the only star to take the stage - Shakira's World Cup 2014 final performance was followed by Carlos Santana, Wyclef Jean, Alexandre Pires, and Brazilian megastar Ivete Sangalo. For the finale, all the performers took to the stage, with Shakira holding her young son Milan. The 20 minute closing ceremony show wowed audiences just before the final game between Germany and Argentina, which the Germans took out in a close match (1-0).

Shakira's "La La La (Brazil 2014)" hit, which has featured throughout the World Cup this year, was released on May 27.

The catchy tune was originally heard by fans under the name of "Dare (La La La)". It was the third single from her tenth album, self-titled "Shakira" and hit number one on the Billboard US Hot Dance Club Songs.

The song was reworked for the World Cup and has been heard alongside "We Are One (Ola Ola)" by Pitbull featuring Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte, which was the official 2014 FIFA World Cup Song, and "Dar um Jeito (We Will Find A Way)" by Santana and Wyclef Jean featuring Avicii Alexandre Pires, which was the official anthem of the 2014 tournament.
