‘2 Broke Girls’ Cast Garrett Morris Faces Lawsuit; Creator Whitney Cummings Return To Stand Up Acting

"2 Broke Girls" cast Garrett Morris is facing a lawsuit for allegedly failing to pay the commission he owed his rep. Meanwhile, series creator Whitney Cummings returns to stand-up acting.

According to the lawsuit filed by Global Agency, "2 Broke Girls" cast Garrett Morris, who plays Earl in the series, did not pay the commission they agreed upon, which amounted to 10% of the income he earns while he's under their representation.

The Global Agency reportedly negotiated with CBS  so he could be included in the sitcom. He has appeared as a series regular since 2011, TheWrap said. However, he failed to pay the commissions after the second season.

However, a rep for "2 Broke Girls" cast Garrett Morris told TheWrap that the respondent has not failed to meet his obligations with the Global Agency. The representative said that Global Agency should run after the actor's "long-time agent" Cynthia Booth.

"Mr. Morris (along with Ms. Booth) has even offered to put the commissions in trust to allow the real parties to resolve their claims without involving him. It is unfortunate that he has been put in the middle of this ongoing dispute, when in fact he has honored his obligations," the rep said.

In another development, "2 Broke Girls" creator Whitney Cummings has returned to her stand-up roots with her Comedy Central  special "Whitney Cummings: I Love You."

In a report by Paste magazine, Whitney Cummings opened her act by saying that she made a television show. When the people clapped, she then scolded them by saying that they didn't watch it, "because, if you had watched it, I wouldn't be here right now."

Her self-titled TV sitcom was cancelled after just two seasons due to low ratings. But she did encounter success with "2 Broke Girls" which is going in on its fourth season at CBS.
