According to GSM Arena, the last and official update made for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 was the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. However, although it involves the use of unofficial firmware, T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 owners now have the option to install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

According to the International Business Times post, BeanStalk Custom ROM is now out for the Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-T989 model. The custom firmware is based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat update and appropriate only for the T-Mobile variant of the smartphone.
