Miami Heat News: Rebuilding Continues For South Beach As Deng Becomes Part Of Bosh-Led Heat

In spite the departure of superstar LeBron James, there is still hope for South Beach as the latest Miami Heat news brings us to what team president Pat Riley has been doing these past days to patch the huge void the former Heat player has left.

A couple of days ago, the Heat management was successful in luring another top though oftentimes underrated free agent Luol Deng, who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season.

Deng's decision to opt out of his contract to become a free agent became a blessing in disguise for the Cavs as they were able to secure enough cap space for their homegrown superstar in James.

As for the 29-year-old Deng, it was evident in his early negotiations that he was looking for a contending team, at the right cost. While he previously demanded a $12 million per year contract, Riley managed to cut down the cost to just $10 a year, amounting to a 2-year $20 million contract where Deng has a player option in his second year.

Aside from Deng, Miami also brought back playmaker Mario Chalmers, though a lot is expected from the point guard who struggled during the team's last stint at the Finals against Spurs guards Tony Parker, Danny Green and Patty Mills.

Alongside Bosh, shot blocker Chris Andersen will also see a comeback for the Heat, potentially bringing energy to its second lineup.

Earlier last week, Riley also secured deals with stretch forward and passer Josh McRoberts, as well as consistent scorer Danny Granger. While Dwyane Wade is also expected to be among the final pieces of the puzzle for the Heat, the 32-year-old and 10-time NBA all star Wade has not made any decision just yet.

Supposing Wade returns with the Heat, the core of Bosh, Wade, Granger and Deng is certainly one of the best we have seen from the team as far as the four positions are concerned. But we still have to see whether such a team could take the Heat back to the Finals in the upcoming season.
