Moto 360 Watch vs. LG G Watch vs. Samsung Gear Live: Android Wear Trio Compared On Display, Specs, Price; Moto 360 Remains A Mystery; Which Should You 'Watch' Out For

Moto 360 Watch vs. LG G Watch vs. Samsung Gear Live: The release of these Android Wears has been long been overdue.

All Android Gears guarantee snappy connections with the Android mobile, SMS and social media updates, helpful apps, and overall a faster and more efficient use of smartphones in the wrist.

Google has finally announced that the LG and Samsung smartwatches will be on sale this July, while the Motorola gadget will follow later this summer. Unlike other smartwatches, the three can be used to pair with any Android handset, as long as their OS is version 4.3. If you already have the budget for these babies, then the next step would be to know each watch’s specs and features. So here’s a quick summary and comparison of the three Android Wears.

DISPLAY

The LG G Watch sports a bit larger display with a 1.65-inch IPS screen than Samsung Gear Live’s 1.63-inch Super AMOLED pane. However, The Gear Live has the crisper and more vibrant screen with a 320 x 320 pixel resolution compared with the G Watch’s 280 x 280 pixel resolution.

The Motorola Moto 360’s finer details remain a mystery. What is certain is its round display which stands out from the two square smartwatches. Rumors say that the Moto 360 will sport a special kind of OLED display. The official details are yet to be confirmed.

SPECS

The LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live both sport a 512 MB RAM and a 4 GB internal storage, both said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU running at 1.2GHz.

All of the Android Wears are dust and water resistant. Meanwhile, only the Gear Live confirmed to have a heart rate monitor.

Motorola continues to keep every detail about its smartwatch shut.

BATTERY LIFE

There is little difference with the batteries of the LG and Samsung Android Wears. The G Watch owns a 400mAh model battery, while the Gear Live has the 300mAh edition. Some critics say that both the battery sizes are still not enough to power a smartwatch for a long period of time.

techradar.com reported that there are rumors saying that the Moto 360 will have a Qi-compatible wireless charging. That is the only clue to the round smartwatch’s battery life.

PRICE

Now available at Google Play, the G Watch costs $229, while the Gear Live is a bit cheaper for $199. Motorola clued in the market that the Moto 360 might retail around $249.
