Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Having Problems With Playing Time? Waiters Not Willing To Play Back-Up Role?

The Cleveland Cavaliers roster may be one of the most improved lineups in the NBA today, and that's just after the best basketball player on the planet decided to come home.

However, the young Cavs team has a lot of assets as well, including 2013 first overall pick Anthony Bennet who is poised to make a big impact in the team after losing weight. Not to mention the current first overall pick in this year's draft, Andrew Wiggins, who is already making his presence felt in the NBA Summer League.

Cleveland also has a new coach from overseas, David Blatt, who has steered his previous teams to newer heights.

With all the changes that are taking place in the Cavs dugout, it looks like a player does not want to take a back-role when the 2014-15 season begins.

According to a report by Bleacher Report, starting shooting guard Dion Waiters was asked by a follower on Twitter if he would be willing to play a diminished role with the Cavs as Wiggins' natural position is the two-spot. Waiters' answer was a resounding no, with 9 o's.

If the Cavs would not push through with the Love-to-Cleveland project, then we can safely assume that they would most likely put Wiggins as the sixth man of the team, one who would come off the bench and provide some defensive spark on the perimeter.

However, another possibility is for coach Blatt to place Wiggins in the starting lineup and give Waiters the supporting role. While Waiters later tweeted that he was just playing, jokes are usually half-meant and so may not be satisfied with his diminished role in spite putting up career highs in points (15.5), 3-point percentage (0.368) and overall field goal percentage (0.433) last season.

In this case, 4-time MVP Lebron James should be able to put everything in order with his leadership skills.
