GoPro Hero4 Release Date To Possibly Be In 2015; Enthusiasts May Temporarily Focus On The New Mounting Solution

Despite speculations that GoPro Hero 4 release date will follow its predecessors' typical October release, the latest sports camera might actually come out in 2015. GoPro Hero2 was released in October 2011 followed by the GoPro Hero3 in October 2012. However, no hints have been revealed yet whether the new camera would indeed come in three months' time.

While waiting, camera enthusiasts may temporarily divert their attention to the newly-developed mounting solution - the Sportsman Mount.

The new mount permits a GoPro owner to attach his or her camera to any pole-shaped equipment whose diameter is between 10 and 23 centimeters. The Sportsman Mount is recommended for gun enthusiasts, bow users, and fishermen. The mount comes with its own waterproof stealth casing.

As opposed to the typical mounting clamp, the Sportsman Mount may be attached to the camera's rear shell. This means that photographers or filmmakers may now be able to secure two cameras even if they are facing opposite directions. This feature provides more flexibility.

The Sportsman Mount is priced at approximately $70.

Meanwhile, owners of GoPro might look forward for a wider array of products as the company aspires to further "invest in complementary businesses, technologies or assets." This announcement follows the company's success as the second largest consumers electronics IPO.

Even if the GoPro Hero 4 release date is still unannounced, the cameras have indeed changed how people capture their adventures. The company was first founded by Nicholas Woodman ten years ago after struggling to take good photos of his surfing adventures with his friend.

With the GoPro Hero cameras, an individual can share a first person perspective of what he's doing - from skydiving to going under water. As per Woodman, the company's current Chief Executive Office, the company is looking forward to expand its wonders in social media apps.

"It's not enough just to enable people to capture amazing experiences. We have to help them summarize those experiences," he said.
