‘The Walking Dead’ Actress Shannon Guess Richardson’s Prison Time Up To 18 Years; Says Ricin-Laced Letters Not Intended To Hurt

"The Walking Dead" actress Shannon Guess Richardson gets prison time of up to 18 years as she claimed that the ricin-laced letter addressed to President Obama were not intended to hurt.

In a report by HuffingtonPost, "The Walking Dead" actress Shannon Guess Richardson was sentenced to 18 years Wednesday for sending the President and ex-mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, letters laced with deadly poison ricin.

She was charged for possessing and producing the biological toxin. She pleaded guilty to the allegation back in December so she could get a leser sentence.

According to court records, she mailed the lettters from New Boston before going to the police to accuse her husband, Nathan Richardson, of the act. It was learned that her husband had filed for divorce prior to the mailing of the letters.

Because of inconsistencies of her testimonies, police deepened their investigation and found that she bought the ingredients to produce ricin, which can be deadly to the person who will inhale it.

In order to implicate her husband, she created an email account, PayPal account and post office box all listed in Nathan Richardson's name.

"After he left the house, I printed the mailing labels for President Barack Obama, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Mark Glaze with The Raben Group," Richardson said in the court documents obtained by HuffPost.

Before "Walking Dead" actress Shannon Guess Richardson got 18 years, she told the court: "I never intended for anybody to be hurt. I'm not a bad person; I don't have it in me to hurt anyone," she said, per Mysanantonio.com.

Federal Judge Michael H. Schneider said that "Walking Dead" actress Shannon Guess Richardson got 18 years only because it was the maximum sentence he could give because of her plea bargain. However, she was also told to pay restitution amounting to $367,000.
