iPad Pro Rumors: When Will The 12.9" Apple Slate Be Released? New Report Claims It Will Join iPad Air 2 And iPad Mini Retina 2 This Year

iPad Pro rumors have been circulating since late last year, claiming that Apple is working on a huge tablet that would become a game changer in the market. However, when Samsung released its Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 during this year's CES in Las Vegas, a lot of people wondered if the Cupertino giant allowed itself to be beaten in terms of launch date.

After months of availability in the market, the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has not performed well in spite its monster specs, primarily because of the very expensive price tag.

In spite the failure of Samsung's huge tablet, it appears Apple is still planning to unveil the iPad Pro before the year ends.

According to a report by Morning Ledger, a Taiwanese publication called Economic News Daily claims that the 12.9-inch iPad would be unveiled some time this year.

The iPad Pro rumors say that Apple will be unveiling not two but three versions of its iPad this coming September or October. Over the past couple of years, the manufacturer has only unveiled two iPad versions, the iPad and the iPad mini.

It was also the same case last year when Apple launched its iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display. But if the company is in fact preparing a third device, that could just be the iPad Pro.

According to previous iPad Pro rumors, the device could be a tablet-laptop hybrid wherein Apple would make the keyboard dock available for users who prefer the laptop look. Like other 'convertibles' today, the device can be changed to its tablet mode by just placing the keyboard dock behind the device.

Other rumors surrounding the upcoming iPad is its Touch ID display, an even thinner frame than the iPad Air, and improved specs such as an A8 chipset and iOS 8. However, we will certainly not be surprised if the iPad Pro comes with an Intel chipset instead.
