The Boss Sees 'Rilla Go' As Final Attempt To Gain Attention In Korea

After debuting in 2010, The Boss (DaeGukNamAh) is trying a new concept to gain attention from Korean audiences.

The Boss made their long-awaited Korean comeback with "Rilla Go!" after extended promotions in Japan and the rest of Asia. During a press conference during promotions for "Rilla Go!" the members of The Boss explained the reasons for the group's divergence from its typical ballad sound, and why "Rilla Go!" is the make-or-break-it song for the group.

The K-Pop Herald reported that the members spoke about "Rilla Go!", the group's fifth official release since debuting in 2010, and explained the intense concept. "Rilla Go!" has an animalistic, jungle-concept, a sharp contrast from vocal-heavy tracks that The Boss is known for.

One of the members, Hyunmin, explained that the group had heard from fans that the member's personalities didn't match with their musical concepts, and that the style of music also didn't suit the members. To try something more comfortable for the members, rather than trying to match The Boss's pre-determined concept as a vocal group, with heavy a cappella influences.


The members of The Boss personally decided on the animalistic concept and outfits that members promote "Rilla Go!" in. The Boss members also partook in composing the songs and writing lyrics.

Injun revealed that the members spent a long time on the album out of fears that The Boss will not be able to last if it doesn't see success in the near future. "We have really struggled emotionally lately. Many of us have had thoughts about whether this is our last chance, our last time together. That is one of the reasons we spent more time than normal producing this album."

The Boss released "Chapter II," in November 2013, almost a year prior to the release of "Rilla Go!"

The Boss released the single "Rilla Go!" on October 14.
