MBC and KBS are set to fight the sitcom war. MBC's "What is a Mother" and KBS's "Shut Up Family" will go head-to-head starting on Wednesday.

According to the Nielsen ratings, "Shut Up Family" recorded 5.7% and "What is a Mother" recorded 6.3% viewer ratings.

"What is a Mother" won out by a very small margin but it's expected that the two sitcoms will be neck to neck for the coming little while. 

Both sitcoms center around the core concept of family. "What is a Mother" deals with conflicts between mothers and their daughter-in-laws and "Shut Up Family" shows the challenges around a family that is based on re-marriage. It's interesting which take the viewers will prefer more.
