K-Pop Review: EXCITE Debut Single Album- "Try Again'

EXCITE debuted with their single album Try Again on October 19th. The group consists of 5 members and made a cameo appearance on the show, "Fashion King" pre-debut. Originally they were supposed to have debut back in July; due to unknown circumstances the date was set back.

The promotion song "Try Again" incorporates a carnival inspired sound that's modernized with the pop genre.

With the pronunciation of the lyrics, there sounds like a miscommunication in the beginning in the song. Yet in truth it's the real lyrics. "Hell no more/ Try Again" It's sounds very contradicting to say "try again" then say "no more." There's no straight direction of the message.

Now there are two versions of the music video.

The dancing is a bit rough around the edges. Yet it's to be recognized. The drama version on the other hand needs more clarification. The song sounds like it's agreeing to the girl's point of view with her acting of being tired and frustrated in the relationship with the constant fighting. Unfortunately, that's not what the lyrics explain. It's actually the guy's story of what he thinks of the relationship going downhill. Pointing out in the video, it starts with the couple being happy to see each other. Then as the video progresses, the girl had flipped 360 degrees after seeing a text message on the boyfriend's phone from another woman. Now she overacted about this to be destructive a second later. Since the song is titled "Try Again" its emphasis that this isn't the first time this ever happened in the relationship. Yet, they are in a never ending cycle of endurance in the time spent together.

Potentially, they can be big idols in the industry. Yet unfortunately, they maybe the type of group that maybe overlooked. Wish them the best for their debut. EXCITE, FIGHTING!
