Sense8 is an upcoming show on Netflix from the Wachowskis, who created The Matrix. The pair hasn't had a breakout hit like that for awhile, but then again they have never done tv before. Here is what the show will be about. 

Hollywood.com reports,"The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally... They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other's deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them."

Slash Film reports, "Several years ago, we had a late night conversation about the ways technology simultaneously unites and divides us, and out of that paradox Sense8 was born.

What is Sens8? We still don't know exactly, beyond that bare decription above. Reportedly it came out of a set of spec scripts the trio crafted, and we're still working under the early assumption that the Wachowskis will direct some of the series.

The filmmakers do use the press release to explain why they wanted to work with the show's co-creator:

"We're excited to work with Netflix and Georgeville Television on this project, and we've wanted to work with Joe Straczynski for years, chiefly due to the fact his name is harder to pronounce than ours, but also because we share a love of genre and all things nerdy."

Deadline reports the cast as, "Lost alum Naveen Andrews, Daryl Hannah and Stargate Universe's Brian J. Smith are among the 14-member international cast of Sense8, Netflix's 10-episode sci-fi drama series from the Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski. Also cast in the show, expected to debut next year, are British actors Tuppence Middleton, who appears in Wachowskis' upcoming film Jupiter Ascending; British actors Aml Ameen (The Maze Runner, Lee Daniels' The Butler) and Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who, Torchwood), Indian actress Tena Desae, South Korean actress Doona Bae, German actor Max Riemelt,  Mexican actors Alfonso Herrera and Erendira Ibarra as well as Jamie Clayton, Miguel Silvestre and Terrence Mann."
