Guns N' Roses New Album Still Scheduled For 2016 Release Says Richard Fortus; DJ Ashba Quits The Band

With the recent developments in Guns N' Roses band members, it looks like there is nothing new in store for fans for quite a while.

This year, the band promised to do a number of tours as well as a new album on a later date. But, with the announcement that the band is taking a temporary hiatus as well as DJ Ashba officially quitting the band, fans might think that this spells bad news for the legendary rock band.

Fortunately, band guitarist Richard Fortus affirmed that they are still working towards releasing the new album which will likely be out by 2016.

"We're gonna be doing stuff next year," Fortus told Live Wire when he was asked if they will soon release a follow up to previous album "Chinese Democracy. "We're not gonna have anything out this year. Yeah, next year, next year it should be out and we'll be touring."

However, they will have to do it without guitarist DJ Ashba, who formally announced that he is quitting the band after six years. The guitarist said that he would like to focus on his other band, Sixx:A.M. which is closer to his heart according to Ultimate Classic Rock.

"it is with a very heavy heart and yet great pride that I announce that I've decided to close this chapter of my life and encapsulate the wonderful times that I've shared with Guns N' Roses into fond memories," Ashba wrote.

"I have reached a point in my life where I feel its time to dedicate myself to my band Sixx:A.M., my adoring wife and family, and to the many new adventures that the future holds for me."

Will something materialize or will the band officially disband soon? Stay tuned.
