Big Hit Entertainment Artists Take The Top Two Spots (BTS and TXT)
BTS is the K-pop act that gained the most new followers on Feb. 2021, garnering 681,782 new followers. Specifically, it is the @BTS_twt account and not the @bts_bighit account.
Currently, BTS's Twitter account has 33.5 million followers. This Twitter account is used by the members themselves, and the boys often share photos of themselves and are used to start a conversation with their fans. BTS was also the K-pop act that gained the most followers in Jan. 2021.
Twitter is one of the platforms BTS uses the most. Back in May 2016, BTS became the first K-pop group to receive their own Twitter emoji. In 2018, BTS was named as the music group with the most Twitter engagements by the Guinness World Records.
TXT follows after the Big Hit seniors, snagging second place. In Feb. 2021, TXT gained 277,813 new followers on Twitter. Specifically, it is the @TXT_members account and not the @TXT_bighit followers. As of press time, TXT has over 7.2 million followers. Just like BTS, TXT uses their Twitter account to share photos and chat with fans.
EXO Ranks Third
The third K-pop act that grew the most in terms of Twitter followers is EXO, who gained 274,854 followers in Feb.
Currently, EXO's official Twitter account has 10.6 million followers. EXO's last activities as a group were in 2019, and they are currently on a break as the members enlist for the military one by one.
The EXO Twitter account is now used to promote the members' solo or unit activities.
In 2018, Forbes named EXO as one of the two artists internationally (including BTS) that over-perform on social media. According to Next Big Sound, EXO's Twitter statistics recorded 14,000 times more than what was expected of the group, with 24 million in total.
Stray Kids Snags Fourth Place
The fourth K-pop act that grew the most in terms of Twitter followers is Stray Kids, who grew by 255,709 followers in Feb.
