More Idols Turn to Solo Routes in Japan: G-Dragon, Junho and Yoseob

More and more male idol group members are making their solo debut in Japan.

Recently, an increased number of idol group members have been making their solo debut in Japan. Big Bang's G-Dragon, 2PM Junho and B2ST Yoseob are the main idols that are in the spotlight.

*Big Bang's leader G-Dragon will debut as a solo artist in Japan on August 14. YG Entertainment revealed, "The specifics of the album has not been set but we are paying close attention since it is the first solo Japanese album."

Currently, G-Dragon is touring around the globe for the "G-Dragon 2013 World Tour: One of a Kind". Before his Japanese debut in August, G-Dragon will have performed in 13 cities in 8 different nations. A total of 550,000 people from various backgrounds are expected to attend his world tour.

Last month, G-Dragon successfully completed his schedule in Japan by performing at the Fukuoka Dome on the 6th, Seibu Dome on the 20~21st, Kyocera Osaka Dome on the 27~29th and Nagoya Dome on June 1 and 2. G-Dragon is the first Korean artist to have performed in four different domes in Japan for his tour.

The anticipation for G-Dragon's Japanese debut is getting higher and higher since he is already very well-known and popular in Japan.

*2PM member Junho will make his Japanese debut on July 24 with his solo album Kimi No Koe, which was produced by Junho himself.

Junho is already respected in Japan for his talents as a singer/song writer. Junho has produced a total of 13 songs for the official album, which contains 5 and for album B which contains 8. In addition, he has participated in the creation of his jacket cover as well as the choreography.

According to Tower Records, Junho's three different albums have placed on No.1, No.3 and No.7 for the most pre-ordered records in Japan.

*Yoseob of B2ST is a little ahead of the previous two mentioned. After successfully debuting in Korea as a single artist last year, Yoseob released his first solo album The First Collage last month.

The album contains the Japanese version of "Caffeine" as well as a remake of the Japanese song "Another Orion". There is a total of 7 songs in his solo Japanese album.

To celebrate his successful solo debut, Yoseob held a fan meeting at the Odaiba Arena in front of about 3,000 fans. In the first weekend after the release of his album, 9,781 copies were sold and place No.5 on the Oricon Charts.

A representative in the music industry commented, "Three people have already become popular in Japan through promotional activities with their idol group so making their solo debuts does not seem to be very difficult. Just as idol groups are split into units in Korea, it appears that idols will continue turning to the solo route."
