On February 23, Marie Claire and Ahn Yujin shared photos of the idol's pictorial for the high-end cosmetics line, Chanel Beauty. Yujin is known for her youthful beauty, stunning visuals and fresh energy.

The idol is extremely experienced in advertising. She modeled for Acuvue Vita, Clearteen and Gatorade during her pre-debut days. Following her debut, she has modeled for Pepsi, The Volon, Burberry Beauty and MEGAPASS. With that in mind, this is not Ahn Yujin's representing a major brand.
However, Ahn Yujin working as the face of Chanel Beauty garnered mixed reactions. Some people thought Ahn Yujin looked too young and bright for the brand. As Chanel is known for simplicity, femininity and timeless modernity, people believe someone older and more mature should have been selected for Chanel Beauty.

Some people also claim that Yujin's pictorial to promote Chanel Beauty does not look like it came from a luxury brand. Instead, it seems more like a brand advertising Y2K products for a mid-range brand. As a result, the elegance of the French fashion house is not felt with Ahn Yujin's pictorial.
People have mentioned other Korean celebrities who had posed for Chanel Beauty, such as Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, BLACKPINK's Jennie, Lee Sung Kyung and Shin Min Ah, are all older and more mature than Ahn Yujin. The difference in image is another reason people are confused about why Ahn Yujin was selected.

However, others have stood up to defend Ahn Yujin. While many agree that Chanel is a more mature brand, Chanel Beauty (which sells cosmetics and perfume) is aimed at a younger demographic. As they target ladies who are feminine, lovely and full of life, Ahn Yujin is the perfect model for the brand.
This may also be why Chanel chose a young female idol like Ahn Yujin for their pictorial.

Some comments concerning Ahn Yujin's photoshoot for Chanel Beauty read, "I wonder how the parent company (Chanel) reacted when they saw this photoshoot. If they want to reinvent their image, that's fine, but they should still look like a high-end brand," "Ahn Yujin's image is too immature to promote high-end brands. It's not enough to just look young," "I'm not a fan of her, but I know Chanel is aimed at young, sweet and feminine girls," and "Yujin's beauty is not my style, but it's obvious the angle is from the agency. The art director of Chanel also decided it, so we cannot blame her."
