Sunmi Announced as New Host for SBS's 'Showterview'
Before the issue, on June 24, former Wonder Girls Sunmi was introduced as the new host for SBS's web reality program "Showterview."
In particular, this is a popular program previously hosted by singer-turned-entertainer Jessi. She became the MC for the show from June 2020 to April 2022.
"Showterview" was specifically loved for the "ZOOM" singer's unfiltered and genuine way of hosting. Many praised how she make her guests feel comfortable to show their sincere and natural side without pretense.

While fans of Jessi's "Showterview" expect the launch of its Season 2, they were surprised when a new host was announced. According to insiders, Sunmi had already recorded for its pilot episode, set to be released in later July.

Following the news, fans expressed divided opinions. Some are looking forward to seeing Sunmi as the new host, but a lot were disappointed that Jessi has been replaced.
What made fans angry was when Jessi responded to a fan's comment stating that she wasn't aware of the replacement.
"(I) didn't know. But good luck to them."
Undoubtedly, people were quick to call out the show's production team. Fans criticized their lack of communication between the artists and expressed they were hurt that Jessi apparently was not informed about the change.
On June 26, the female personality turned on a live broadcast on Instagram to address the rumors about the program and new host Sunmi.
First, Jessi attested to fans that she wasn't hurt by the show replacing her and said:
"I am literally in a place in my life where, this is from the bottom of my heart, but there's no point of me to bullsh*t about anything.
[...] Like, I didn't know, you know, one of my fans actually told me. I was like 'oh really?' But I didn't really feel butt-hurt at all because, at the end of the day, the show must go on."
In regards to the rumor that she was kicked out, Jessi stated:
"I really wish the best for Sunmi and 'Showterview' because, yeah I took a break... We weren't sure if we would come back or not. Most likely we were, but nothing was finalized, but I guess you know, someone, you know my friend Sunmi...they replaced me."
Nevertheless, the star showed her support to the show and her friend, saying:
"(Please) show a lot of love to Sunmi and a lot of love to 'Showterview'."
On the other hand, for those who are curious if how different the show will become after the new host, Jessi hinted:
"But to be honest, I know it's going to be different because listen, guys, one thing about 'Showterview' is...' Showterview' was not scripted. When they gave me that script, I said f**k that sh**, I"m doing it my way."
