Street Man Fighter is the male version of the successful Mnet dance competition program Street Woman Fighter, which features eight dance crews such as Mbitious, Prime Kingz, YGX, 1MILLION, We Dem Boyz, Bank II Brothers, Team Eo-Ddae, and Just Jerk.

Just like the show's two predecessors, the Street Man Fighter dancers will showcase their dance skills in different genres of street dance, including locking, breakdancing, krumping, hip-hop, waacking, and more.

While nothing seems to be wrong with dancing to the girl group's new song, netizens have found the way they danced to "Hype Boy" mocking.

"Seeing them make a caricature out of NewJeans' 'Hype Boy' dance is making me so uncomfortable. [...] Imagine releasing a video to mock someone under the pretext of being a dancer," the user said in their post.

The dance team was identified to be Local Chumps, a four-member group who is set to join the show and compete. The original video was uploaded through their TikTok and Instagram accounts, however, it did not get the a positive response as many deemed their exaggerated movements a mockery of NewJeans and their dance choreography.

When a netizen had called them out, one of the dancers in the video, Hyunse Park, had pinned the comment and replied "yep!" sarcastically on his Instagram.

"You guys really just look like losers without making it look fun or touching at all. It is to the point I feel uncomfortable at this...," the netizen said.

One of the dancers of Loyal Chumps, Park Jihwan, even called themselves "NewJjinddas," which means "new losers."

Unsurprisingly, the video has since then been deleted from Local Chumps' social media accounts following the negative response.

'Street Man Fighter' Team Eo-Ddae Choreographed 'Hype Boy'

Following the alleged mockery, netizens are also highlighting Team Eo-Ddae, who shared a video of them dancing to "Hype Boy."

Although Team Eo-Ddae are NewJeans' choreographers and were the ones who originally choreographed the dance, many couldn't help but compare the attitudes between Team Eo-Ddae and the controversial Street Man Fighter dancers when it comes to dancing another group's choreography.

As of this writing, Local Chumps has yet to respond to the criticism.
