Since the beginning of this year, IVE's makeup style was met with heavy criticism from the public, which persisted for several months and was pointed out on different occasions.
The criticisms were mostly aimed towards members Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin's makeup styles, which IVE's fans DIVEs, as well as netizens, found that the members' makeup styles were unflattering. Not only that, but they found that they looked more mature despite being young idols.

The issue even led to IVE's makeup artist holding a live broadcast to address the issue and apologize publicly. Not long after that, speculations arose that IVE had changed their makeup artists back in September following the constant backlash.
Fans believed that the "After LIKE" hitmakers have new makeup artists due to the difference in their makeup styles recently. A different salon has also been sharing photos of the IVE members through their social media account.

Following reports of IVE supposedly changing their salons, netizens couldn't help express their relief that the members would be receiving better and more age-appropriate styles.

However, it seems that the happiness is short-lived as IVE's new makeup artists are beginning to draw criticism as well.
On October 8, IVE attended the 2022 The Fact Music Awards (TMA) held at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. In addition to bagging a couple of awards, IVE also performed their hit songs "LOVE DIVE" and "After LIKE."
Following their appearance at the awards ceremony, a netizen took to the online community forum TheQoo to share several photos of IVE's new makeup styles.

While the members and photos itself were pretty, netizens couldn't help but criticize how their new makeup styles seemed "boring" and lacking the "idol" factor.
Netizens pointed out that compared to other idols' makeups, IVE's looks a bit more plain and less fancy. Some even said that it doesn't feel like stage makeup due to the lack of "bling" or glitters.
