Regarding this, some netizens commented:

"Why does he do this...? Even that private messaging app is something he gets money for."

Some fans also took it upon themselves to explain the context behind the joke. According to RUi, the story behind taking photos in exchange for money was a joke between Junseo and fellow WEi member Daehyun.

Fans added that Junseo had taken a photo of Daehyun, who later shared the photo and credited Junseo on social media. In the comments section on Instagram, Junseo joked with Daehyun that he should have charged the latter ₩50,000 KRW (around $35 USD) for taking the photo.

When fans asked Junseo on Bubble if Daehyun really paid him, the WEi member responded that he "obviously didn't." To continue on with the joke, he joked that he should offer photos of RUi to Daehyun and get paid the money in return.

Other netizens also defended Junseo, stating that other idols also tend to joke with fans about receiving money. One netizen even mentioned how there are so many posts these days demonizing idols by sharing screenshots that were cut out.

Still, some believe that jokes about money should not be frequent.
