TREASURE Yoshi Impresses TEUMEs, VIPs With His Cover of THIS G-Dragon Hit

With a surprising delivery, TREASURE Yoshi has given fans a lovely cover of BIGBANG G-Dragon's "That XX."

It didn't only surprise TREASURE's fandom, Treasure Makers (TEUMEs), but also VIPs, BIGBANG's fans!

TREASURE Yoshi Covers G-Dragon's 'That XX'

The cover was released on November 22 as Yoshi shared an audio clip singing a song cover of his senior and YG Entertainment labelmate G-Dragon.

In an early note, the TREASURE member had asked fans on Weverse for song recommendations to cover. Many requested "That XX" and their wishes were granted through a beautiful snippet.

Yoshi assured his fans that he would upload the cover during the day.

BIGBANG G-Dragon's 'That XX'

"That XX" was released in 2012, and it became a fan favorite since then.

The song's artist, BIGBANG leader G-Dragon, announced that he would have a comeback on September 1, 2012 with a new single.

Shortly after on August 25, G-Dragon released his music video "ONE OF A KIND," where the concept featured strong hip-hop genre. A poster for the single was released and it featured an edgy vibe.

The music video was released on August 31, 2012, noting that 3 years since his last solo comeback, the BIGBANG leader returned with a robust concept and musicality.

"That XX" MV is clearly different from "ONE OF A KIND" as it showcases a mellow acoustic ambiance. It also features a story-like structure in the music video, which is one of the song's charms.

The lyrics is a friend-zone anthem, where the guy in the story struggles seeing the girl he loves fall for a guy who doesn't treat her right and give her the love she deserves.

Furthermore, the music video also features BLACKPINK Member Jennie Kim, who was still a YG trainee at that time.

G-Dragon's EP Release and Breakthroughs

Exploring the publication in 2012, G-Dragon's "ONE OF A KIND" was released digitally released on September 15 and its physical album on September 18. "Crayon" was written by the leader himself, and longtime YG producer, Teddy.

The title of "Crayon" is a fusion from the words "Crazy" and "G-Dragon", which is a fun note to take.

Meanwhile, "THAT XX" flies at the top 1 around music sites, and is rated 19 plus due to its strong language in the lyrics. 

"THAT XX" by BIGBANG's G-Dragon has reached a milestone in the charts, currently garnering over the 100 million view mark with its music video and is G-Dragon's fourth solo music video to reach past its goal.

A song of its stature and influence, was superbly covered by Yoshi of TREASURE, showcasing his genuine love for the fans.

Due to their energetic performances while being a boy group in the prestigious YG Entertainment who houses well known groups such as BIGBANG and 2NE1, the group has covered a large fanbase within their reach.

The members consist of Hyunsuk, Yoshinori, Jihoon, Junghwan, Junkyu, Jeongwoo, Doyoung, Haruto, Jaehyuk, and Asashi. Two former members Yedam and Mahsiho left the group and agency earlier at November 8, 2022.
