Choi Yena Discusses Image & Musical Transition For 1st Single Album 'Love War'
On January 16, soloist Choi Yena discussed more details about her first single album, "Love War."
The idol appeared in a live showcase for the album, hosted by MC Kim Il Jung. With the idol's dark MV released, her fans, Jigumis, couldn't wait what else Yena had stored. They were also curious as to how Yena came up with the album's edgy concept.
Yena stated how she, as an artist, tried to change things up and explained how this album will show new sides to her. The host also imparted how Yena did a 180 degree turn for "Love War," as opposed to her bubbly releases "SMILEY" and "SMARTPHONE"
"I tried to change things up to show my growth as a musician. You will see a new side of Yena through his album."
Afterwards, they introduced BE'O, one of the artists who was featured in Yena's title track. Yena revealed that in her discussion with the track's producer, she had BE'O in mind as the perfect candidate to feature. BE'O also agreed that "Love War" projects a different vibe compared to Yena's previous songs.
Yena then elaborated the album's tracks, to which she lyrically participated in. She introduced the first track "Love is Over," which radiates a classical intro. The idol then introduced the second song "Wash Away," telling a story about heartbreak and the healing necessary for it.

Lastly, Yena introduced the title track "Love War" which is about a relationship state, where two lovers are in crisis.
"The intro 'Love is Over' is an opening to the album, which contains a classical vibe since I want listeners to feel curious. The song 'Wash Away' is about the heartbreak after a broken relationship, as the narrator forgets all about it in pain."
"The title track 'Love War' is about the state of relationship where you hurt each other even though you're in love."

On January 16, Stone Music Entertainment released the MV for "Love War."
The video currently gathered 1,343,814 views since its release. Fans were thrilled to see Yena's versatility as an artist, and commending BE'O's addition in the song.
