Super Junior Heechul Donates 100 Million Won to Victims of School Violence

On February 21, Super Junior member Heechul has contributed a thoughtful donation to school violence victims.

Blue Tree Foundation, a platform for preventing youth violence, announced the idol's generous donation.

They shared that Heechul had given 100 million won in the donation, which is equivalent to $76,900 USD. His donation aims to help young victims of school violence in their healing and recuperation.

Heechul expressed his thoughts regarding the donation, via the foundation. The idol stated his good intentions, as well as his sympathy for those who experienced school bullying, and hoped his donation would make a good impact.

Kim Kyung Sung, Blue Tree Foundation's chairman, expressed his gratitude to Kim Heechul for supporting non-violence among youth. He also assured that his efforts and all future donations would be put into good use to prevent school violence.

"I wanted to assist young people who have experienced school violence. Victims of school violence bear physical and psychological scars for the rest of their lives, so I made the decision to donate in the hopes that school violence will no longer cause suffering to children."

"I deeply thank singer Kim Heechul for taking part in the support of propagating non-violence among youngsters. We shall make every effort to ensure that young people who have been assaulted in schools can resume their regular lives."

Super Junior Heechul Apologizes for Controversial Remarks on Live Broadcast

In other news, Heechul received backlash for his remarks on a livestream. On February 14, Heechul posted an apology letter, expressing regrets over his actions.

On the livestream, the idol was seen under the influence of alcohol, while talking about topics which angered netizens.

Heechul blurted out his honest thoughts regarding cat moms, ASTRO Cha Eun Woo and former SuJu member Kangin. His rambling also included profanity, double standards, and matters of school violence.

Since he faced intense criticism from netizens, Heechul apologized to fans who caught the receiving end of his words and promised to learn from his mistakes.

"In any case whether my opinions were correct or not, I regret using strong language, profane terms, and exhibiting a double standard in the live broadcast."

"I sincerely apologize to my followers who were offended by the controversy I once again caused. I'll do everything in my power to avoid stirring up any trouble again in the future, as this is the last time that it will happen."

"No matter how much I think back on what I said, I still believe it's not acceptable to curse at those who commit acts of school violence and on specific sites."
