NewJeans' 'OMG' Enters Its 6th Consecutive Week on Billboard Hot 100, Tying With BLACKPINK's 'Pink Venom'

On March 1, NewJeans' "OMG" has now competed with BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom," on the Billboard Hot 100.

"OMG" is now recognized as the second longest-charting song on Hot 100 from a female K-pop artist. It has remained on No. 89 on Hot 100, making its sixth week on the chart.

However, it was only bested by "Ice Cream," a collab track from BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez. In 2020, "Ice Cream" spent eight consecutive weeks on Billboard Hot 100.

On January 25, Billboard revealed on Twitter that "OMG" has entered on Hot 100, making its place on No. 91. NewJeans has obtained their second entry with "OMG," following "Ditto," which earned its way at No. 96.

Despite being a rookie group, NewJeans has officially joined sensational groups BTS and BLACKPINK, as the third K-pop act to debut in Hot 100, alongside multiple songs.

Apart from Billboard Hot 100, "OMG" also entered multiple charts such as Global 200 at No. 14, World Digital Song Sales at No. 6, and Global Excl. U.S. at No. 9.

The girl group has achieved the milestone in just six months since their debut, making them the fastest K-pop group to become million sellers. They are also the youngest artist to achieve this mark, and also the seventh K-pop girl group to do so.

Circle Chart unveiled that 720,000 physical albums were successfully sold, and 290,000 were also derived from Weverse.

"OMG" garnered half-million sold-outs in its first day, reaching a total of 480,000 sales. It also surpassed the group's debut album, "NewJeans," which sold 311,271 sales on its first week.

With three performance videos and one MV, "OMG" went viral for its "killing part" in the chorus, as well as the members' charisma on screen. It has spawned dozens of covers on the internet, proving the song's skyrocketing popularity.
