TWICE Becomes First K-pop Female to Attain Biggest US Week Sales, 'READY TO BE' Debuts at Billboard 200

On March 19, TWICE has become the first female K-pop artist to achieve the biggest week sales in the U.S. with their 12th mini album "READY TO BE."

According to Luminate, the girl group made history by earning 153,000 equivalent album units with "READY TO BE" during the week ending on March 16.

In the album's overall score, it comprised of 145,000 traditional album sales, and 7,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, which led to 10.28 million on-demand audio streams. "READY TO BE" also collected 500 track equivalent album units (TEA).

Following this, TWICE is now the first female K-pop artist to have three albums placed on Billboard 200's top 3, and position four albums in its top 10.

Furthermore, "READY TO BE" is TWICE's sixth entry on Billboard 200, following their 2020 release "MORE & MORE" which debuted No. 200, "Eyes wide open" at No. 72, "Taste of Love" at No. 6, "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" at No. 3, and "BETWEEN 1&2" at No. 3.

TWICE has always been known for their physical album sales power. However, as timed went by, TWICE has now taken their amazing influence across the United States and internationally.

The MV for title track "SET ME FREE" has been released on March 10, and currently garners 45,601,155 views on YouTube, as of March 20.

TWICE Accomplishes Numerous Feats With 11th Mini Album 'BETWEEN 1&2'

In other news, TWICE has also achieved multiple achievements with their previous album "BETWEEN 1&2." On September 4, 2022, Billboard revealed that "BETWEEN 1&2" has entered the Top 200 Albums chart at No. 3.

During their "Talk that Talk" era on 2022, TWICE has become the first female K-pop act to have three albums on Billboard 200's top 10. According to Luminate's data, "BETWEEN 1&2" has sold 100,000 equivalent album units on the week ending September 1, 2022.

With these numbers, the figure contained 94,000 pure album sales and 6,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, translating to 9.18 million on-demand audio streams over the week ending (September 1).

It has also achieved a milestone on Spotify, where "READY TO BE" garnered 27.7 million streams in its first week of release. This beat TWICE's member Nayeon's record of 23.6 million streams with solo debut album "IM NAYEON."

"BETWEEN 1&2" also surpassed TXT's "minisode 2: Thursday's Child," which accumulated 27.58 million streams. Its title track "Talk that Talk" also received 13.24 million streams from August 26 to September 1, 2022, securing the 13th highest first-week streams for K-pop songs in 2022.
