aespa's New Album 'MY WORLD' Surpasses 1 Million Copies On First Day
On May 8, at 6 p.m. KST, aespa made their highly anticipated comeback with title track "Spicy," alongside its album "MY WORLD."
According to Hanteo Chart, "MY WORLD" had sold a total of 1,372,929 million copies on its first day of release. This achievement led aespa to become the third K-pop girl group in history to exceed 1 million copies on the first day.
This record was also held by BLACKPINK, who managed to garner 1,011,266 million albums sold with "BORN PINK" on September 16, 2022.
It was broken by fourth-generation girl group LE SSERAFIM, who surpassed BLACKPINK with 1,024,034 sold out copies of "UNFORGIVEN," which was recorded on May 2.
Apart from having the most number of first-day sales, they have also accomplished the second highest first-week sales. The lead in this category is BLACKPINK, who gathered 1.54 million copies with "BORN PINK," trailed by "MY WORLD," "UNFORGIVEN," "Girls," and "I've IVE."

On YouTube, its title track "Spicy" has also made waves. The music video currently garners 12,208,723 views as of May 9.

With their new achievements, MYs congratulated the girls online, and expressed their joy over their accomplishment. Fans were also amazed with the song's performance on streaming platform MelOn, pre-orders, and sales.

aespa Establishes New Record For Stock Pre-Orders With 'MY WORLD'
In other news, aespa also broke their personal record in stock pre-orders.
On May 8, SM Entertainment announced that aespa's "MY WORLD" has earned over 1.8 million stock pre-orders, which surpassed their own record with "Girls," which gathered 1.61 million stock pre-orders.
They've also become the second K-pop girl group in history to achieve the highest pre-order count, bested by BLACKPINK, who collected 2 million stock pre-orders for "BORN PINK."
