Mubeat Exposes 200k Illegal Votes from BTS Jungkook's Fan, EXO Wins in Final Result
Uproar unfolded after Mubeat revealed that a BTS Jungkook fan singlehandedly voted illegally for about 200,000 times!
Here's the full story.
BTS Jungkook Fan Caught Illegally Voting About 200k Times, EXO Wins Final Ranking
On July 25, Mubeat released the listings of fans who were caught voting with "heart beats" (voting tickets) obtained from fraudulent activities in regards to its "Mubeat K-POP Fan Voting," one of the criteria to determine the winner for KBS' "Music Bank."
Fandoms who were caught using illicitly-earned "heart beats" were publicized every week since July, and these numbers were deducted to their final points in the app or website.

Mubeat then released the latest listings of those who conducted illegal votings for their respective idols nominated for the July 21 broadcast of "Music Bank," whose voting period ran from July 18 to 20.
The voting platform announced:
"After looking into the details of the votes, we confirmed that some users abused the error encountered in the application to obtain a large number of "heart beats" through fraudulent methods.
After investigating the heart beat obtained illegally, we took measures to recover it.
In addition, the number of votes made with heart beats obtained in this way was also deducted accordingly."
Here are the fandoms caught illegally voting:
- EXO: 1001
- ZEROBASEONE: 10334
- EXO: 2494
- NCT Dream: 1167
- Shownu x Hyungwon: 1100
- BTS Jungkook: 195,167
- EXO: 1117
- EXO: 1000
On the July 21st broadcast then, EXO's "Cream Soda" won its first music show win despite the deduction, followed by ZEROBASEONE's "In Bloom" in second place. Meanwhile, BTS Jungkook's "SEVEN" ranked third.
Although most of the nominated artists had a fan who committed illegal voting, K-pop fandoms were particularly surprised with how a BTS Jungkook fan voted about 200,000 times for the idol using the illicitly-earned "heart beats"!
What was shocking was that Jungkook ended up in third with about 301,000 votes, which means that more than half of it were illegal votes!
BTS Jungkook Fan Criticized, ARMYs Defend Idol
When the list spread around K-pop communities, they couldn't help but call out ARMYs (BTS fandom) who initially accused other fandoms of cheating and illegally voting. Some even mocked the fan base for claiming that BTS Jungkook's achievements were "organic" when a fraudulent act like this was done behind the scenes.
Imagine if only the group EXO was found on that list with a 5k fraudulent vote, they would've written long-ass articles just to paint the fandom and the boys bad but since their favorite is there with a huge # of fraudulent votes, they're pretending that none of it happened π

EXO-Ls (EXO fandom) particularly expressed their frustration at the initial humiliation they received from the fandom, only to turn out that a BTS fan voted illegally by 200,000 times, alone!
On the flip side, ARMYs following the announcement immediately defended their idol and co-fandom by claiming that they were "framed" and that the one caught voting wasn't a "real" fan.
Not a single fb of ours asked to iIIegaIIy vote for seven like exoIs. Who knows it was probably the kpop stans who did this just to frame jungkook

The fandom explained that prior to the 2-day voting for Mubeat, ARMYs decided to not vote for the music show, "Music Bank," because it was predicted that it was impossible for Jungkook to win first place. This was to focus their time, money, and energy on another broadcast with higher chances of giving the idol a win.
The fandom also announced it through Jungkook's voting accounts; thus, they were sure that the one caught wasn't an ARMY.
