The highly anticipated awards show finally made its first announcement!

On October 19, a Korean news outlet reported that the Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2023 would be held at the INSPIRE Arena in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, on December 2.

It also included a message from the event organizers, who addressed the lack of seats in the venue since INSPIRE Arena is scheduled for opening and lacks domestic concert infrastructure.

Moreover, the INSPIRE Arena would have a capacity of 15,000 seats and is the first-ever exclusive venue dedicated for K-pop. To compensate, Melon shared that the organization would deliver a quality viewing experience at the large-scale venue.

"For the music fans who were disappointed with the venue's lack of domestic performance infrastructure, we will provide an exhilarating first viewing in a large arena exclusive for K-pop."

It also disclosed that MMA 2023's slogan for this year is "K-pop Changes the World." The slogan defines the meaning of becoming one with music's strength, which will unite the world at the awarding ceremony.

The awards show will also be livestreamed, and audiences can watch the program on the Melon app, website, Wavve, and ABEMA TV in Japan.
