NewJeans Wins Group of the Year at 2024 Billboard Women In Music, Becomes 2nd K-pop Girl Group to Attend After TWICE
NewJeans is making history in 2024's first quarter!
On February 8, Billboard released an announcement declaring NewJeans' inclusion in the upcoming Billboard Women In Music Awards this 2024. The awards show is a yearly event that honors female artists for their impact on the music industry.
NewJeans will also be accompanied by popular artists such as Karol G, Charli XCX, Ice Spice, Kylie Minogue, Luísa Sonza, Tems, Victoria Monét, and Young Miko. Moreover, the show will be hosted by actress Tracee Ellis Ross.

According to Billboard, NewJeans is set to receive the Group of the Year award at the program, which will be held in California on March 6. Regarding those who aren't able to attend in person, the ceremony will be livestreamed on its official website on March 7.
This achievement also led NewJeans to be the second K-pop girl group after TWICE to attend and win a trophy at the Billboard Women In Music.

Overall, they became the third girl group to be awarded with the inclusion of Fifth Harmony, who also won Group of the Year in 2015. As for TWICE, the nonet made history as the first-ever Asian female group to win the Breakthrough Award in the ceremony.

In other news, NewJeans has also secured a win at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, which was held on November 19, 2023. The year-end ceremony was also a historical event for K-pop stans and artists, as the Billboard Music Awards added four new categories dedicated to K-pop.
In the awards show, NewJeans took the trophy for the Top Global K-pop Artist Award, while Jungkook won Top Global K-pop Song, Stray Kids for Top K-pop Album, and BLACKPINK for Top K-pop Touring Artist.
