On March 10, 2024, Rosé of BLACKPINK was one of the many A-listers invited to attend the Vanity Fair Oscars 2024 after-party. For the event, Rosé wore a sleek beige column gown with a large cut-out at the side and a massive bow tied in the back. She accessorized the look with over-sized square sunglasses, a gold bangle, and a sleek ponytail.

Soon after the event, her stylist, Maeng, shared behind-the-scenes photos of Rosé preparing for the event. Like for other events, Maeng was in charge of Rosé's makeup, while Lee Seon Yeong worked on her hair. Rosé's outfit was styled by Park Se Jun.

Soon after Maeng shared photos of Rosé's make-up, the stylist earned backlash for her work.

While BLINKs stated that Rosé looked beautiful, many were unimpressed with Maeng's work. They stated that while the make-up matched Rosé's vibes, the female idol has worn the same make-up to all the events she has been invited to. Maeng has not played around with new styles with Rosé, which many believe is unfair.

This has become a problem for Rosé's fans, who state that when Maeng works with the other BLACKPINK members, they are consistently given new styles to play with.

It was also noted that while Maeng's hands were covered in lipstick swatches, Rosé's lips were noticeably void of any color. Some joked that the only product on Rosé's lips was lip balm.

Though Rosé still looked gorgeous, the consensus was that they believed Maeng should try something new to showcase Rosé's visuals.
