Every year during summer, music fans are truly looking forward to the music festival, "Waterbomb" which is often held in various cities in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam and Dubai. This year, it will also expand its impact in Los Angeles.

Earlier, Seoul released its star-studded lineup for July, and this time, Osaka, Japan also took off the veil of its first artist to join the water battles and summer festival!

SHINee Onew to Attend Waterbomb Osaka

On April 25, GRIFFIN Entertainment, the new agency of SHINee Onew announced that the K-pop global star will grace the water festival in Osaka, Japan.

He will be joining the "Orange Team," which will perform on August 10, 2024.

On the official SNS of Waterbomb Osaka, the event organizer confirmed this and posted her poster along with the caption:

"ONEW, the owner of the gentle vocals that melt listeners' hearts. Let's all get killed by ONEW's stage this summer!"

Meanwhile, Taemin will also join the event for the Seoul location, alongside TWICE Nayeon, Jessi, Simon Dominic and more on July 7th.

SHINee Onew's 'Waterbomb' Appearance Sparks 'Expectation vs Reality' Check Among Shawols

For those who aren't familiar with the event, it is a music festival held during summer that involves playful water fights, thus, artists attending, "Waterbomb" usually wear summer outfits susceptible to the water.

However, the tradition became intense as the years went by after K-pop idols started showing off bolder outfits that emphasized their impressive physiques and body lines.

When the news came out, Shawols (fandom) was caught in an online hysteria, as among the members, they were least expecting Onew to be the one attending the summer festival.

In particular, Onew is known among fans for his rather conservative side, that he rarely shows his abs or muscles, in contrast with Taemin and Minho.

Thus, Shawols raised their expectations after the news if they would finally see the fruit of Onew's months of hard work and effort to regain his healthier appearance following his hiatus.

Fans brought back rare yet iconic photos and clips of the idol when he flaunted his body ratio, hoping that he would fulfill the fans' dream and fantasy.

Hilariously, other Shawols immediately broke this hope and claimed that in reality, Onew would most likely wear a heavy-duty raincoat and goggles, recalling his peculiar and unpredictable personality.
