To measure the popularity of the new K-pop acts, the Korean Business Research Institute released its newest brand reputation list, which involves rookie groups who have made buzz this May 2024.

According to sources, the institute collected data from April 2 to May 2. These results were then determined by analyzing several popularity-related factors such as the participation of consumers, coverage from the media, and their overall engagement with fans.

Featuring the 10 most popular K-pop rookie groups THIS May 2024!

1. ILLIT

ILLIT continues to dominate brand reputation rankings with an index of 5,335,252, which earned them the No. 1 spot. The quintet has also been consistent in making buzz in the K-pop industry with their achievements, music show wins, and addictive music.

2. TWS

With a brand reputation index of 4,377,016, TWS made it in the top three this May.

3. BABYMONSTER

BABYMONSTER secured No. 3 with a brand reputation index of 3,252,218.

4. ZEROBASEONE

ZEROBASEONE managed to secure a brand reputation index of 1,555,709, earning the No. 4 spot.

5. RIIZE

RIIZE rounded the top five with a brand reputation index of 1,420,204. The boy group has also been gaining attention inside the K-pop community for their activeness in the industry, engagement with fans, and the release of a newly revised lightstick.

6. KISS OF LIFE

KISS OF LIFE was also included in the list, as the quartet is slowly establishing themselves as one of fifth-gen's leading acts. According to the institute, KISS OF LIFE secured the sixth place by receiving a brand reputation index of 1,362,614.

7. UNIS

UNIS debuted on March 27 with their first mini album "We UNIS" and the title track "Superwoman." This May, the group successfully garnered a brand reputation index of 1,097,962, earning them the No. 7 spot.

8. BOYNEXTDOOR

BOYNEXTDOOR made it on the list with a brand reputation index of 815,598, earning them the eighth place.

9. Big O!cean

Big O!cean claimed a brand reputation index of 417,986, which earned them No. 9.

10. tripleS

The Top 10 was completed by tripleS, who received a brand reputation index of 373,634. The girl group will also release their first full-length album "ASSEMBLE24" and title track "Girls Never Die" on May 8.
