Among numerous celebrities who failed to join Girls' Generation, Founder Lee Soo Man insisted that THIS member should never be left out when she was almost kicked out by the person in charge.
On May 15, the latest episode of MBC's "Radio Star" was aired. Under the theme, "Actor's Jewel Box," actor Kim Do Hyun, Kim Nam Hee, Tiffany Young and musical actor Choi Jaerim were invited as special guests.
On this day, the idol-turned-actress then shared various stories about her active days as an SNSD member up to her transition into the acting scene.
Here, she also confessed that she almost wouldn't make it to Girls' Generation, if it weren't for SM's founder Lee Soo Man.
In particular, among members, she has a shorter training period of only two years, while the rest have a minimum of five years of training, just like YoonA, Hyoyeon & Yuri.
Tiffany then said:
"My training period was shorter than that of the other members, so at the end, the person in charge said, 'I think you might not make it. Are you mentally ready to go home?'"
When she was about to be fired, Lee Soo Man entered the scene and said:
"But Lee Soo Man (former executive producer at SM Entertainment) said that my smile was my best strength and energy when I appeared on screen, and he actually said, 'I think you should never be left out (of Girls' Generation).'
When I debuted with 'Into the New World,' many people liked my eye smile."
Undoubtedly, Lee Soo Man did a good job of choosing her to stay. We can't ever imagine SNSD debuting without Tiffany!
Meanwhile, during the conversation, Tiffany also talked about her co-members and their mischievous side.
She recalled the time when the members would tease her a lot about her poor Korean, flaunting their "true friend" chemistry.
Tiffany Young narrated:
"At the beginning of my debut, I was very confused and poor at Korean because I had only recently come to Korea. The members made fun of me a lot. There were times when I said 'Please excuse us' instead of 'We ask for your understanding' or said, 'I asked for your understanding' incorrectly, but no one would correct me.
Later, I argued with the members and it was even more so because the members were having fun. When I asked what "야속하다(heartless)" means, Sooyoung replied, "속이 야해 (I feel erotic inside). But now I have improved a lot because I carry my dictionary and the members have acknowledged that I'm better at Korean than them."
