Rookie girl group KiiiKiii is gearing up for an August comeback following the overwhelming success of their debut album, First Light, which topped national charts and sold over 100,000 copies in its first week.
The six-member group, managed by StarBridge Entertainment, confirmed today that they will return with a new single and music video on August 10.
First Light, released in May, dominated both domestic and international charts, claiming the number one spot on the weekly Gaon Album Chart and reaching the top 10 on Billboard's World Albums Chart.
Lead single "Dawn Breaker" earned praise for its blend of synth-pop hooks and dynamic choreography. Industry analysts noted the group's rapid rise as a testament to effective promotion and a growing global fanbase.
Since their debut showcase at AIS Hall in Seoul, KiiiKiii's dance practice video has surpassed 10 million views on YouTube, setting a record for new acts this year. The group's official Instagram account reached 500,000 followers within two weeks of its debut, reflecting growing international interest. Several tracks from First Light have been featured on popular streaming playlists, extending the album's reach beyond core fandom.
StarBridge Entertainment revealed that KiiiKiii began recording the new album in June, collaborating with a team of seasoned songwriters and producers. The agency teased concept photos featuring bold neon styling in a social media post, fueling speculation about a more edgy sound. Pre-orders for the upcoming release surpassed 70,000 within three days, indicating strong anticipation among fans known collectively as Kiiikiians.
In an exclusive statement, leader Minji said, "We are excited to share our next chapter with everyone. The support from Kiiikiians has been incredible, and we hope to return the love with fresh music and performances." Member Sora added that the group focused on refining their vocals and choreography to deliver a more mature stage presence.
KiiiKiii will kick off promotions with a live showcase held on August 9 in Seoul, followed by performances on major music shows including M Countdown and Music Bank. The agency plans to release a behind-the-scenes documentary on streaming platforms later in the month. With their quick rise and committed fanbase, the group appears poised to solidify their position in the competitive K-pop landscape.
