Fifty Shades Of Grey: Scott Eastwood Is The Latest Contender For Christian Grey Role; Dakota Johnson Even Helps Out On Screening

Director-actor Clint Eastwood's son Scott is reportedly one of the five actors being considered to replace Charlie Hunnam as the male lead in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'. The actor-model sparked the casting report on Twitter, writing, "What is all this talk about Fifty Shades of Grey?? What do you all think?? Let me know." And then a source close to the 27-year-old fuelled the rumour by saying, "He is one of five actors being considered", reported Contactmusic.

The other candidates for the coveted role are Francois Arnaud, Billy Magnussen, Luke Bracey, Jamie Dornan, Theo James and Christian Cooke. The chosen one will play opposite Dakota Johnson, who is tapped as Anastasia Steele. Eastwood is currently filming David Ayer's World War II action drama 'Fury' with the likes of Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf and Logan Lerman. He once appeared in his father's 2008 'Gran Torino' and 2009 'Invictus'.
So imagine our surprise when along came an item today-as if willed into existence by our caps-locked conjecturing-that the 27-year-old actor "has been approached for the role." JustJaredsays he is "one of five actors being considered." As reported by IBN Live

Here are the FIVE REASONS enumerated by Vanity Fair on why Scott Eastwood is THE PERFECT 'Christian Grey'
1) He's clearly fine with being unclothed. See aforementioned Town & Country spread.

2) He has a lot in common with potential co-star Dakota Johnson. They both have famous actor parents (Dakota's the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith). And . . . that's the only commonality we can come up with; but it's a big one, right? They probably have stories about waiting backstage at Jay Leno, or learning the word "paparazzi" before the word "chair," or such, which they can gab about between takes.

3) He has nothing to lose. Unlike previously cast Charlie Hunnam, or pretty much any actor whose name you've heard before, Scott Eastwood doesn't have any sort of reputation to uphold or dignity to lose. No one knows who he is! Clint surely won't care, either, as he's used to his family indulging in arguably embarrassing exploits.

4) He's kind of shameless. His social media feeds (on which he often uses a self-created #EastwoodLivin hashtag) indicate he's a goofball who's pretty into himself (see: the Instagram pic accompanying this post). He tweeted about the 50 Shades rumors with the hashtag "hype"; he wants to be famous real bad. There have been a bevy of semi-unknowns whose names have floated around since Hunnam dropped out; at least we know Scott, if cast, would keep things interesting, and consistently tweet selfies from set.

Dakota Johnson was even reported being tasked to help out towards the search for the actor to play opposite-her-role, as reported by NY Daily News.
