Greys Anatomy Season 10 Cristina Yang Leaving – Conflict Between Meredith Grey And Other Characters Could Be Her Exit Story Line?

Grey's Anatomy Season 10 main cast, Cristina Yang, will not be back next season. Played by Sandra Oh, Cristina Yang has been one of the original characters in the story. She's also one of the most loved characters in the hit medical drama.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sandra Oh confirmed her upcoming departure from the show.

"It's been a great privilege to play the character of Cristina Yang on GA and I am both sad and excited to see where this, her final season will take her," Sandra Oh said in the interview.

After the news broke, Rhonda Rhimes promised to give Cristina Yang's character the "ending she deserves."

Rhimes said, "This year is going to be bittersweet for us-we're both going to savor every moment of Cristina Yang and then we're going to give her the exit she deserves. And when Sandra walks out of my door, Grey's Anatomy will be once again be forever changed."

Until now, Rhimes is still not giving clues on how Cristina Yang's character will be written off from the series.

However, by the looks of how the Grey's Anatomy Season 10 story is going right now, it might have something to do with Yang's current rift with Meredith Grey (played by Ellen Pompeo).

Yang's relationship with Grey hasn't been doing good. This started because of Yang's decision to remove Grey from a groundbreaking surgery that two of them were supposed to perform together.

Meredith: I don't believe you! You are saying that I can't be a good surgeon and a mom.

Christina: Of course not! Dr. Bailey's a mom, and she was fantastic in there!

Meredith: Then what are you saying?

Christina: I'm saying, I'm saying... Bailey never let up. She lives here. Callie? Never let up. Ellis Grey [Meredith's mother] never let up. And I know you don't want to be your mother. I'm saying, you and I started running down the same road at the same time, and at a certain point, you let up. You slowed down. And don't say that I don't support that, because I do. You made your choices, and they are valid choices, but don't pretend they don't affect your skills. You are a very good surgeon, but we're in different places now. And that's okay.

Since then, Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang's relationship hasn't been okay up to the point the Grey didn't even think about inviting Yang on her planned Halloween party for Zola and their Thanksgiving day.

On top of this, Yang's also dealing with accepting Owen's new relationship while trying to be a good mentor to her resident, Shane.

Although nothing is confirmed, Sandra Oh expressed her feelings on how she wants her character, Cristina Yang, to be written off the show.

During an interview with TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Oh revealed that she doesn't want her character to die.

"Of course, I would very much like her to live. You know, the show's going to continue and go on and have its own life, and eventually it will have to come to a close. I'd love to come back!" Oh said without giving any hint of hesitations.

When asked about her thoughts on Crowen's happy ending, Oh revealed, "It depends on how you define happy ending," Sandra says, a bittersweet smile on her face, adding that it will be "not so much happy ending in a pat way where we've been taught this is what a happy ending is, but a truthful one."

Based on Oh's words, it might be truly the end for Cristina and Owen. However, it could also mean that they'll be parting ways in good terms. After all, we are talking about Cristina and Owen here. Owen is the only person (aside from Meredith) who understands and accepts Cristina. And, the same goes for Cristina to Owen.

So, how does Cristina Yang's character will be written off the story?

Well, judging by the way the storyline is going and Sandra Oh's interview, it looks like that her conflict with Meredith and Owen's new relationship could be the key points to her exit.
