Singer and actor Rain returned to mainstream media through his new reality program "Rain Effect." There's much anticipation as to whether he will be able to restore the familiarity he once had with his fans through this new show.

The first episode of Mnet's "Rain Effect" aired on the 19th. His goal was to show off a candid side to him that previously remained unseen in other works and onstage as a world star.

Despite having 15 years under his belt since his debut, Rain isn't familiar with reality programs. Rain wants to draw closer to the public by showing himself just as he is, without any fluff.

Rain has taken a long break from the public's view, especially because of time spent in the military. He was also wrapped up in the entertainment soldier controversies. And there's question as to whether he will be able to wash away the negative image that he's currently enveloped in.

That's the reason why Rain made himself vulnerable and showed his plain makeup-less face. He also revealed his face and did his best to show that he's putting special effort into the show.

Not only that, the show also revealed the preparations that went into his first Japan tour in 4 years, as well as his rehearsals for 'MAMA.'
