Cobie Smulders, who plays Robin Scherbatsky on "How I Met Your Mother," revealed new spoilers to TV Guide Canada, and teased that fans will soon get to meet Robin's elusive mother later in season 9.

Smulders said that "HIMYM" creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are currently on the hunt for someone to play Robin's mother, The Loop reports. The actress said she was quick to offer a few suggestions of women she would like to play her character's mother.

"I pitched Annette Benning," she noted when asked about her dream casting choices for Mrs. Scherbatsky. "I would really like that. Mary McDonald I think I pitched too."

Smulders, who is originally from Vancouver, added, "It should be an interesting Canadian callback. I don't know she's going to be abooting it all over the place, but I think she lives up in Canada, so that should be cool."

Cobie also gave another spoiler: the 200th episode of "How I Met Your Mother" season 9 will not feature the first meeting of Robin and The Mother.

Instead, the episode, which is called "How Your Mother Met Me," will revolve around Cristin Milioti's character and what she's been up to for the last nine years.

"We get to kind of see how [she and Ted] just miss each other," Smulders said. "That episode is a lot about tying up loose ends and showing fans what they want to see."

The 200th episode airs January 27, 2014.

"How I Met Your Mother" season 9 returns after its mid-season finale on January 13, 2014, with an episode about Marshall and Barney's slap bet. The episode is titled "Slapsgiving 3: Slappointment in Slapmarra."
