'Reply 1994' Star Yoo Yeon Seok Heading To Africa To Do Volunteer Work With Students

South Korean actor Yoo Yeon Seok of the program 'Reply 1994' is apparently a big star with a big heart.

On Wednesday, Yoo announced that he will head to Africa as part of his work with the Christian charity organization World Vision International, to paint classrooms and participate in a school-sanctioned "field day" with 350 students.

The actor will also take a photo portrait of each student he comes in contact with.

"I wanted to capture the simple images of these children in photos, so I decided to participate when this opportunity came up," Yoo told eNEWS.

"I'm looking forward to sharing memories and supporting the hopes of these children, who are dreaming of bright future. Their dreams will come true. I hope that this will be a healing time for all of us."

According a statement from Yoo's management company King Kong Entertainment, the project has been in the works for a long time.

"Yoo Yeon Seok will be participating in a project that he has helped plan for a very long time with World Vision," the statement read.

World Vision International claims to be one of the largest Christian relief and development organizations in the world, with work being done in over 100 countries.

Evangelist and filmmaker Robert Pierce founded the organization in 1947.

"World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization that is dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice," reads the mission statement posted on the group's website.

According the World Vision International annual report, the group raised $390,000 in 2013, with 81 percent of the revenue going to helping "children and communities in need."
