Psy continues to make big waves in the States, so much so that a lot of people are planning to don the Tuxedo and be Psy'd this Halloween season. A Halloween light display synchronized to Gangnam Style had also been spotted.
Still on Psy, he has been nominated for Best Video at the MTV EMAs and will be the first Korean artist to perform at the award show. While in the US this week, he performed on daytime talk show "The View" and also had an audience at the UN with UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon -- where he was even teaching the diplomat how to do Gangnam Style. Psy maintains his spot at #2 for the Billboard charts for the fifth week.
Talking about the UN, the Wonder Girls were also recently seen there, taking part in the 67th annual UN Day concert performing "My Love Sweet Love" with American music Legend Stevie Wonder. The girls were so ecstatic about this chance to play with Stevie that they were found tweeting about the honor.
4minute member HyunA also released her latest solo mini album "Melting" and the first single "Ice Cream" which was given a 19+ rating in Korea and banned form a few of their broadcasting companies is catching some overseas attention The Guardian, a newspaper from the UK, has praised HyunA saying that "If anyone is to follow in Psy's footsteps, it will be HyunA." Billboard US also has made "Ice Cream" their must watch video of the week.
Prior to leaving for the army, Super Junior Leader Leeteuk made his last appearances on SBS "Strong Heart" and the Style Icon Awards. The other members of Super Junior have decided not to hail another member as the temporary leader but instead will wait for Leeteuk to come back.
Rumors of miss A member Suzy leaving the group temporarily to pursue solo activates spread like wildfire this week. Wikipedia cited Suzy as a former member of the group and stated that miss A would be ending their promotions for their new single "I Don't Need A Man" early. But all these rumors proved to be a hoax and fans need not worry for Suzy is staying with miss A and the group will continue to promote their new track as planned.
Topic of interest this week is the issue of idols dropping out of school. Idols are making the hard choice between continuing their careers or pursuing their education. Idols like f(x)Sulli, miss A Suzy and 4minute Sohyun have decided to continue on with their careers. While other idols such as Jihae of Girls Day and AJ of U-KISS chose to pursue their education.
In the upcoming weeks, lots of concerts and events are landing in the US West Coast, Los Angeles, to be exact. One of these concerts is the SBS K-Pop Super Concert to be held in Irvine on November 10th.
