American Horror Story Amps Up Season 3 And Emmy Nominations With Asylum Re-Runs: New Orleans Filming For Coven Continues

With 17 Emmy nominations and season 3 filming, "American Horror Story" will be airing re-runs of Asylum to amp up anticipation for the FX hit series.

Zap2it reports in FX will be airing episodes 1 through 7 Friday, August 23 and episodes 8 through 13 Saturday, August 24.

Along with "Louie," FX earned a total of 26 Emmy nominations this year, making it the most nominated basic cable network this year.

This is a great way for "American Horror Story" fans to catch another glimpse of cast members like Sarah Paulson, Francis Conroy, Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe, and Evan Peters before they return for season 3 in October.

For season 3, entitled "Coven," the cast members above will be joined by Angela Bassett, Taissa Farmiga, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Patti LuPone, and Gabourey Sidibe. While Taissa was a part of "American Horror Story" in season 1, she was absent in Asylum.

Currently, season 3 is filming in New Orleans for a season rumored to involve witches and witch hunts.

According to TV Show Auditions, "Filming begins July 23, 2013 in New Orleans, LA and will continue through January, 2014."

"'American Horror Story: Coven' will center on a family who moves across country after suffering a tragedy. The theme will be witches and witch hunts."

"Jessica Lange will be playing a 'glamor cat' and will be going at it against Academy Award winner Kathy Bates. Bates will portray a woman who, at the start, is Lange's character's best friend, but will become her worst enemy."

Today, "American Horror Story: Coven" will be filming at Magazine St. and East Dr. in New Orleans, otherwise known as Audubon Park.
