DAY6 popularity in South Korea continues as they became the first K-pop band in the past decade to score a Perfect All-Kill (PAK) with its song, "HAPPY."
On Sept. 30th, the K-pop band DAY6 cemented its status in the domestic music scene by sweeping off the first spot in all major local charts including iChart, MelOn, Genie, Bugs, YouTube Music, Flo, and Vibe.
Securing the No.1 seat in these charts is a huge indicator of popularity among Koreans as only big K-pop idols and acts in the music scene were able to have a PAK in 2024 so far, including IU, BIBI, (G)I-DLE, ILLIT, aespa, etc.
Among Korean rock bands, DAY6 raised the bar as the first one to achieve this record in 11 years since Busker Busker in 2013. The two groups were the only bands to earn PAK in history.
Meanwhile, the song that helped them garner a PAK is its b-sidetrack, "HAPPY" from its album, "FOUREVER" released in March this year.
Following its reverse-running popularity in the summer with "You Were Beautiful" and "Time of Our Life," the song, "HAPPY" belatedly went viral as well, leading to the new record.

The fact that DAY6 did this after six months of its release and military break is also earning applause from music fans, as it is rare for a team, much alone a band to receive such love after being in a hiatus for a long time.
Meanwhile, "HAPPY" which surged to No.1 also earned its first music win on the Sept. 29th episode of SBS's "Inkigayo," winning against another DAY6 track, "Welcome to the Show," the title track of the same album.
To maintain its momentum, the quartet also dropped its 9th mini-album, "Band Aid" on the 2nd, which is receiving attention as well.
