Jason Sudeikis Quits SNL! [WATCH THE ANNOUNCEMENT] Saturday Night Live Comedian Tells Letterman He's 'Out And Not Coming Back'

Jason Sudeikis quits SNL for good. Sudeikis confirmed he is leaving SNL on David Letterman Wednesday night. There have been talks that Jason quits SNL since May, but now the news of him terminating his role is official.

"Now, how many years have you been regularly employed at 'Saturday Night Live?'," Letterman asked.

"If you could call it regularly employed, 10 years," Sudeikis said, adding that he worked as a writer for two years before appearing on camera for eight.

"I'm definitely done. I'm going to leave. Yeah, I'm not coming back next fall."

Jason was known for playing Mitt Romney, the Devil and Glenn Beck on Saturday Night Live. Though he's happy to be leaving, he knows he will miss it a bit when the writing process for the show picks up in August.

Sudeikis is the latest in a long line of comedians who have left the sketch comedy showcase. Last year, favorites Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg made their exits. In May, eight-year vet Bill Hader announced he would be leaving as well.

Sometime next year, "Weekend Update" anchor and head writer Seth Meyers is expected to depart to take over "Late Night" from "SNL" alum Jimmy Fallon, who's taking over for Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show."

Sudeikis was on Letterman to promote his new comedy flick "We're the Millers," which opens in August. The movie also stars Jennifer Aniston. Though the visit was supposed to center around the comedy flick, the attention was turned towards the comedian's SNL departure.
