Minecon 2013 Cape: 'Green Cloak' "Looks Cheap"; Fans Share Opinions About Mojang's Rumored Giveaway For The 3rd All-Things Minecraft Event

There are speculations going around that Mojang, the indie developer of Minecraft, will be using a rejected cape as a giveaway to all the attendees of Minecon 2013.

If this is true, the third most voted cape from a 2011 poll created by Mojang will be the Minecon 2013 cape. The photo of the cloak likely to be used as the Minecon 2013 cape is posted below.

From the picture above this article, a photo of all the capes which were part of the 2011 poll were shown. And as can be seen, the red creeper cape made it to the first place, making it the official Minecon 2011 cape. The second placer was the blue golden pickaxe cape, which was used for the second Minecon event.

And if Mojang will stick to the tradition, the third placer, the green Minecon cape is up for the upcoming Minecon 2013. Well, not everyone is actually excited about the 'green' cloak as the official Minecon 2013 cape.

Some Minecraft gamers shared their opinions about the 'green' cloak for Minecon 2013. In a forum post created by BlownUpCyborg from MinecraftForum.net, he shared, "Hey guys, what do you think will be the new Minecon 2013 cape?" He further added, "I honestly think It will be a green cape with a diamond."

GalexO3 blatantly expressed his opinion about the green cloak as the Minecon 2013 cape. He wrote, "i hope [they don't] use the green in the cape it looks cheap"

As a response to BlownUpCyborg's post, Witherpixel shared, "It's possible that it's going to be a block , or something else that is very common in minecraft. If last year was a pick, this year might as well be a sword. Or a common block , such as a grass block."

EmkMage blurted out his opinion regarding the Minecon 2013 cape by responding in the forum post. He shared, "I hope they actually create a unique cape and not use the 2nd most liked rejected cape from the 2011 poll which was the green one. This green cape has nothing to do with Minecon. Minecon 2011 got a red creeper cape Minecon 2012 got a blue cape with a golden pickaxe. And unless they're EXTREMELY lazy, they'll just give us a plain green cape that shows nothing that even relates to Minecraft in any way what so ever! If they're not be lazy they'll give us a cape that actually relates to Minecraft!"

Mojang has not been revealing additional details yet about Minecon 2013. The only official information that came out is that Minecon 2013 location is in Orlando, Florida. It will be held from November 2-3. Mojang also promised that tickets and hotel packages will be announced this July. It is also reported that the venue for Minecon 2013 is already booked, at the West Building of Orange County Convention Center.
