Downton Abbey Season 4: Cast Dish Spoilers About Characters; Lady Mary Will Have 2 New Suitors, But Is Love 'Cursed' For The Crawley?

"Downton Abbey" season 4 doesn't return until January 2014, but the cast is teasing fans with spoilers about the plot and characters for the upcoming season. E! News talked to the leading ladies Michelle Dockery, Phyllis Logan, Joanne Froggatt and Sophie McShera, and learned some new details about Lady Mary's suitors.

The season 3 finale ended with the death of Matthew (Dan Stevens), just as Lady Mary (Dockery) was giving birth to her son. So how will Lady Mary recover from her devastating loss?

From not one, but two potential new suitors on the British drama, E! News reports.

"There are a few potential suitors, there's two main ones," Dockery said. "The new boys coming into the show, they're brave because I'm cursed. Mary is cursed isn't she? Because they all die."

The Huffington Post reports that "Downton" executive producer Gareth Neame joked to Page Six about Lady Mary's men: "They're kind of like praying mantises, aren't they? They come into it once and that's it."

Dockery revealed her shock when she found out that Matthew was going to be killed off the show.

"My first reaction [to finding out Stevens was leaving] was, 'Oh, crap! What is going to happen?' Because I thought, 'Where can the story go now?' We've spent all this time having this on/off, will they/won't they relationship, and then suddenly it was coming to an end," Dockery said at the Television Critics Association Summer 2013 press tour.

"So initially I was concerned about what would happen ... But I think that, as much as it was sad to see Dan go, the same as it was to see Jessica [Brown Findlay] go, it opens up opportunities for Julian [Fellowes] to write a new chapter and something quite different, not only for Mary, but the knock on effect it has for other characters. Initially I was I was concerned, but now I'm not because it's a great [season], and it's a very different [season] to what it could have been," she continued.

Dockery quickly put to rest any romance rumors between Mary and Branson (Allen Leech).

"All this speculation about Branson and Mary is just so inappropriate, he's my brother-in-law!" she told E! News.
