Emilia Clarke Too Old For 50 Shades Of Grey? Casting Call Begins For Movie, Filming In London UK Confirmed

While Emilia Clarke may be busy with "Game of Thrones," the actress may be disappointed to know that strict casting guidelines may eliminate her from being a contender for "50 Shades of Grey" the movie.

"Michael De Luca Productions and Focus Features in association with Trigger Street Productions are currently in pre-production on the feature film "Fifty Shades of Grey", which is based on the hugely popular best-selling novel of the same name by British author E. L. James," writes the official casting call.

According to Acting Auditions, the casting call for "50 Shades of Grey" is just beginning, but many names have already been pushed to the top by fans, including Emilia Clarke and Alexis Bledel for the role of Anastasia Steele.

However, based on the character descriptions, it appears Emilia Clarke may be too old to contend for the "50 Shades of Grey" role.

The official descriptions for both Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele are:

[ANASTASIA STEELE] Female, 20-25 years old, Caucasian, very beautiful, innocent and inexperienced, but also very intelligent and sharp. LEAD.

[CHRISTIAN GREY] Male, 25-33 years old, Caucasian, the perfect man, hes extremely good-looking, sexy, confident and carries himself well. His intelligence and drive has led him to become a self-made billionaire. LEAD.

If they are indeed only looking at those within the 20-25 age range, that means Emilia Clarke (26) and Alexis Bledel (31) are too old.

In addition, the "50 Shades of Grey" casting call also requires the cast to be able to work in London, UK, confirming the rumor that the film will be shot overseas.

But, given that Emilia Clarke has a very young look and holds certain star power thanks to "Game of Thrones," perhaps she will be considered nonetheless.

What do you think? Can Emilia Clarke play Anastasia Steele in "50 Shades of Grey?"
