The “Pretty Little Liars” season finale had fun with the big reveal. The writers put Magic 8 balls front and center. When our The Pretty Little Liars went to Ravenswood they learned that if Ashley, who is played by Laura Leighton, gets out of lockup, then A will come after them. Travis doesn’t snitch on Ashley in the lineup while Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” poetry cast a loving spell on Ezra, played by AIan Harding and he finds himself getting hot for Aria, played by Lucy Hale, who is distracted by Jake (Ryan Guzman).

The District Attorney really has no choice but to drop the charges against Ashley. But it’s a good thing Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) is there for support. Paige (Lindsey Shaw) decides to have a sleepover with Emilys (Shay Mitchell) to keep an eye on her and make sure she stays safe. Spencer (Troian Bellisario) is still clueless about what happened to Toby (Keegan Allen) after they fought at the hoedown and Toby vanished. He’s still calling. News reports say that CeCe, played by Vanessa Ray, is guilty of killing Detective Wilden and took it on the lam.

Speaking of disappearing, after Jake falls asleep at the movies and Aria winds up getting romantic after Ezra’s poetry reading, it’s Aria who does the Houdini. Spencer breaks the cardinal rule of magic and reveals A’s latest. What’s happening, she says, is that A wants to put an act on for Rosewood where there just happens to be a magic show going on. Aria gets picked by the magician and disappears. Just when we think she’s gone. Aria is brought back.

Now, can they do the same for Emily? Only maybe not bring her back? The Pretty Little Liars call Emily, near the sawmill in hysterics. The The Pretty Little Liars chase Red Coat straight to the warehouse where they save Emily and find there are two Red Coats. Aria goes after one and we see, just as it looks like she’s falling to her death, that it is CeCe.

Well, not to her death, she can still move her fingers.

Ms. Grunwald had a weird feeling that night when Ali was murdered she was the one who drove to Rosewood and pulled Ali out of that grave before she too disappeared on the way to the hospital. More magic as Mrs. Grunwald who saw with her psychic gifts that she should warn The Pretty Little Liars that they’re being watched.

Who is watching them? A, in a hoodie, and A is Ezra.
