Upcoming Nokia Phones 2013: Finnish Manufacturer Announces Feature Phone Amidst Smartphone Supremacy Warfare

Back in the day, almost every household held its very own feature phone, which was most likely manufactured by Nokia. During the past decade, the Finnish company enjoyed the pedestal of the mobile phone market.

However, its transition from feature phones to high-end devices was too slow that it was overtook by Korean brand Samsung and American company Apple. It kept on working on their own smartphone lineup and OS, the late Symbian, but miserably failed due to the platform's limited UI interaction and eyecandy.

And now, Nokia plans to eat a chunk of the market by releasing a feature phone to take on the competition.

Nokia announced its upcoming dual-sim feature phone, the Nokia 515.

While it does not offer much compared to the pricey and bulky smartphones, the phone boasts enough features to make it a decent purchase for practical buyers. The phone is made out of a single piece of anonyzed and sandblasted aluminum, while its screen is manufactured from polarized Gorilla Glass 2, which would make mosts users happy.

According to GSMarena, the Nokia 515 also has a 2.4" QVGA screen, 5MP rear camera, and surprisingly supports a microSD card of up to 32GB. It also features dual-sim support, and its battery is reported to last a whopping 38 days on standby.

Nokia's new feature phone will be launched during the third quarter starting in Russia, Switzerland, Poland and Germany, with a pricetag of about $149.
