Doctor Who VS Sherlock: Fans Debate Their Favorite Show, Will John Hurt Be A Recurring Villain In Season 8 Against Peter Capaldi?

"Doctor Who" and "Sherlock" may both be on hiatus right now, but the fans are up in arms about which is their favorite BBC series!

The Twitter user Whovian recently opened up a poll recently regarding whether fans love "Doctor Who" or "Sherlock" more.

"Don't make me choose!" writes Sassy Sherlock.

"I can't I just...can't, it's like picking a favorite child!" laments Charlotte.

Needless to say, "Sherlock" and "Doctor Who" have many crossover fans due to Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, and the BBC fandom as a whole.

So far, it seems "Doctor Who" is winning. Sorry, Benedict Cumberbatch.

But Twitter is also causing a stir in the "Doctor Who" universe because of John Hurt, who is confirmed to be appearing in the 50th Anniversary Special.

Recently after the Peter Capaldi announcement, John Hurt tweeted out the following message, which was later deleted according to Doctor Who TV.

"Congratulations, Peter Capaldi. I'm suboth and we will have a lot of fun."

The message was later replaced with:

"Congratulations to Peter Capaldi and to BBC. Another splendid Doctor!"

As many fans theorize, John Hurt is most likely the 8.5 Doctor, but could he be making appearances beyond the "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary?

Peter Capaldi will make his debut reportedly during the Christmas Special, so if John is to make an appearance, the Christmas Special is also a likely guess.
